Job Title: Commercial Officer

Location: Portsmouth. We offer a range of flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role

Salary: Up to £35,000 Dependent on skills & experience

What you will be doing:
  • You will provide commercial support and contract administration to a project or business stream
  • You will form and maintain good working relationships with internal and external customers
  • Prepare and support the preparation and presentation of LCM reviews and Request for Bid Approval, ensuring the necessary approvals are obtained within governance of the operational framework
  • Provide support to the Commercial Manager by taking responsibility for the preparation of quotations and proposals
  • Assist in negotiation of proposals with potential customers and ensuring that this results in acceptable business agreements and contracts
  • You will have the ability to follow up activities to ensure inputs from others are received and progressed to conclusion
  • Show commitment to meet deadlines and targets
Your skills and experiences:
  • Attention to detail and good numeracy skills
  • Previous experience within commercial awareness, bidding or contract processes/techniques would be beneficial
  • Relevant degree or similar experience

The Commercial Team:

Working in support of the UK Contract Logistic Support (CLS) and Type 45 Power Improvement Project (PIP) project teams to provide commercial services, support and advice. Reporting to the Senior Commercial Managers for CLS and for PIP, delivery of this role will be part of the commercial team within the Warship Support business unit.

The Commercial Officer, as a member of the commercial team and community within Warship Support will manage the effective deployment of corporate commercial processes and contribute to the delivery of the functional integrated business plan.
