Position Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Officer to join the Aerospace Procurement – Partners team. This role is based in the Risk and Revenue Sharing Partners team and offers the opportunity to work with one of our strategic supply chain partners based in Japan. As relationship owner, you will manage activities with your nominated partner account, supported by close working relationships with the rest of the Civil Aerospace commercial and legal teams and other areas including procurement, finance, Commercial Aviation (including engineering), supplier management teams and regional business development team. This Commercial Officer role represents an ideal opportunity for you to develop your business and commercial skillset as part of your career development. You will be part of a team with a proven track record of developing people’s capabilities whilst you contribute to an important part of our business that offers unique commercial insights into both customer and operations activities. There will also be opportunities to support functional improvement activities and strategic projects across the broader commercial and business development teams.

What you will be doing

The Commercial Office role will cover a broad range of relationship and account management aspects including:

  • Manage business issues arising against existing contracts with strategic partners.
  • Manage partner relationships through regular communications including "working together" meetings.
  • Develop and implement partner sourcing strategies based on an understanding of civil aerospace business, programme and commodity strategies.
  • Identify, manage, and liaise with internal stakeholders across the business.
  • Contribute to functional improvement activities and strategic projects across the team.
  • Act as a “Wellbeing” advocate for colleagues and peers across the team
Position Qualifications
  • Legally trained or business associated degree
Preferred Requirements
  • You can draft, interpret and negotiate contracts with external parties and have proven prior experiences
  • You have a strong business aptitude with the ability to analyse business issues, with an attention to detail, in order to identify and deliver commercial solutions.
  • You have prior experience of working with external parties such as suppliers, partners, or customers in a business environment.
  • You have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop relationships and communicate clearly and effectively at all levels.
  • You are comfortable dealing with ambiguity and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills (including some financial analysis)
  • You can overcome challenges to meet goals and deliver results based on sound business judgement.
