Overview

Role: Commercial Manager (Testing & Certification industry) – Location: Hertfordshire (Hybrid) – Salary: Competitive salary (DOE) – Hours: Mon–Friday (37.5 hours a week) – Benefits: 25 days holiday plus bank holidays increasing to 30, Life Assurance, Pension Scheme, Healthcare cash plan, EAP & flexible working hours.

Russell Taylor Group have a fantastic opportunity for a senior level Commercial Manager to join a well-established Testing, Inspection & Certification Company. They are looking for someone to shape and deliver their commercial strategy, drive profitability, and lead projects. This is a high-impact role for a proven commercial leader ideally within the TIC industry who thrives on change, innovation, and growth.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the commercial strategy, spotting market opportunities and driving margin optimisation.
  • Overhaul and digitise the quotation process to improve speed, accuracy, and client experience.
  • Collaborate with various internal teams to ensure seamless integration with the CRM.
  • Analyse product and service profitability, recommending actions to maximise performance.
  • Drive go-to-market strategies, tenders, and partnerships to unlock new revenue streams.
  • Build and inspire a high-performing commercial team.
The Person
  • Educated ideally to degree level in Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field (professional qualifications are a bonus).
  • Senior-level experience in commercial or business development roles, ideally within the Testing, Inspection & Certification industry.
  • A strong track record in digital transformation, particularly sales acquisition and SaaS.
  • Commercial acumen with deep expertise in pricing, margins, and profitability.
  • Excellent negotiation, stakeholder, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM/ERP systems (Dynamics experience a plus).
