Job summary

WPS seeks an experienced Commercial Manager to lead the commercial delivery of multiple major social housing planned works contracts. You will drive profitability, manage risk and lead a team of Quantity Surveyors across refurbishment, retrofit and external works programmes.

Work closely with Operational Directors, Contracts Managers and Clients to deliver projects safely, on time and within budget while maintaining stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Commercial Manager or Senior Commercial role.
• Experience leading a team of quantity surveyors and commercial professionals.
• Strong contractual knowledge (JCT/NEC/partnering).
• Excellent commercial acumen with margin improvement track record.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial management of multiple contracts within social housing planned works.
• Mentor, develop and oversee a team of Quantity Surveyors and commercial professionals.
• Ensure robust cost management, forecasting, budgeting and financial reporting across all contracts.
• Drive profitability through procurement, subcontractor management and value engineering.
• Oversee valuations, variations, change control and final accounts negotiations.
• Identify and mitigate commercial risks while ensuring contractual compliance.
