Prosper Recruitment are working in partnership with a pioneering company dedicated to enhancing energy efficiency and sustainability across the built environment. With a mission to reduce carbon footprints and support communities in the transition towards a greener future, they focus on innovative retrofit solutions in the North West. This part of a larger group focuses on a suite of services including internal and external wall insulation, loft insulation, heating systems, energy-efficient lighting, and more.
Our client believes that upgrading existing housing stock is essential for both environmental and economic sustainability, and they are committed to delivering top-quality projects that meet their clients' needs. These clients include: Social Housing Providers, Local Authorities and Housing Associations.
Due to expansion and new contracts secured they are now seeking a Commercial Manager.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with the company's mission to enhance energy efficiency and sustainability.
- Oversee the financial planning and budgeting processes for retrofit projects, ensuring profitability and cost-effectiveness.
- Manage relationships with clients, including Social Housing Providers, Local Authorities, and Housing Associations, to understand their needs and ensure project satisfaction.
- Lead project teams in the execution of various retrofit solutions, ensuring adherence to quality standards and timelines.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement strategies to mitigate commercial risks associated with projects.
- Analyse market trends and identify opportunities for business growth and expansion within the retrofit solutions sector.
- Collaborate with internal departments, including marketing, operations, and technical teams, to streamline processes and enhance service delivery.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on project performance, financial metrics, and market insights to senior management.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve optimal terms and conditions.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards, maintaining the company's reputation for quality and sustainability.
Experience / Requirements
- Proven experience in a commercial management role or Senior Quantity Surveyor role within the Social Housing Sector
- Strong understanding of financial planning, budgeting, and cost control in relation to retrofit projects.
- Demonstrated experience in managing relationships with diverse clients, including Social Housing Providers, Local Authorities, and Housing Associations.
- Track record of leading project teams and successfully executing multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to quality standards and deadlines.
- Experience conducting risk assessments and developing commercial risk mitigation strategies.
- Familiarity with analysing market trends, identifying growth opportunities, and implementing successful business development strategies within the retrofit sector.
- Previous collaboration with cross‑functional teams, notably in marketing, operations, and technical departments, to enhance service delivery and streamline processes.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to prepare and present comprehensive reports on project performance and financial metrics to senior management.
- Negotiation experience with a proven ability to secure optimal contract terms with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Comprehensive knowledge of industry regulations and standards pertaining to sustainability and energy efficiency in construction and retrofit projects.
