Job summary

Eden Brown is partnering with a leading Defence consultancy in Derby to recruit a Commercial Consultancy Manager/Senior Quantity Surveyor. The role focuses on commercial and contract management across complex programmes within a regulated Defence environment.

You will work with clients, contractors and project teams, delivering commercial advice, cost management, forecasting and governance throughout the project lifecycle. This is a hybrid Derby role with SC clearance required.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial management within Defence, Infrastructure or similar complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and contract administration.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver commercial and contract management services across projects and programmes.
• Administer NEC contracts and ensure contractual compliance.
• Provide commercial advice and support to project stakeholders.
• Support cost management, forecasting, reporting and financial controls.
• Manage commercial risk, change control and compensation events.

Our client is seeking a talented and motivated Commercial Consultancy Manager Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing Defence team in Derby. The Role

As a Commercial Consultancy Manager, you will work closely with clients, contractors and project teams, providing commercial advice and ensuring robust contract administration throughout the project life cycle. Key Responsibilities

• Deliver commercial and contract management services across projects and programmes.
• Administer NEC contracts and ensure contractual compliance.

• Assess contractor applications, variations, claims and final accounts.
• Prepare commercial reports, correspondence and contractual notices.

• Support continuous improvement and commercial best practice initiatives.

About You

We are looking for candidates who possess:

• Experience in commercial management within Defence, Infrastructure, Nuclear, Engineering or other complex project environments.
• Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts and contract administration.
• Experience in cost management, forecasting, reporting and change control.
• Understanding of commercial governance, contract law and construction/engineering contracts.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline.
• Current SC Clearance or eligibility to obtain SC Clearance (essential).
