Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL seeks a Commercial Manager to lead the commercial function for construction projects in Renfrewshire. You will oversee a small commercial team and ensure projects stay within budget while supporting junior staff.

Role requires hands-on commercial oversight, negotiation skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Full-time, permanent position with competitive salary and car allowance.

Qualifications

• Experience as Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor within construction.
• Strong knowledge of contracts and commercial processes.
• Experience mentoring a small commercial team.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Managing the commercial performance of multiple construction projects.
• Overseeing and supporting a small team of Quantity Surveyors/Estimators.
• Preparing, reviewing, and negotiating subcontract agreements.
• Monitoring project costs, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Managing client applications and payment processes.
• Producing monthly cost/value reconciliation reports and identifying risks.
• Working with operational teams to deliver projects within budget.
• Assisting with tender reviews and procurement activities.
• Maintaining relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
