Job summary

Mace Construct Limited in London is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to lead the commercial management of work packages on the United Airlines Hanger Refurbishment and fit-out project. You will collaborate with package managers and report to the project commercial lead, implementing risk and opportunity reporting and protecting margins through cost control systems.

The role requires a degree in Quantity Surveying, CSCS, and strong experience in major infrastructure projects, with

Qualifications

• Experience on major infrastructure projects preferred.
• Strong commercial management experience, contract administration and cost management.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the commercial management of subcontract packages from procurement to final account.
• Procurement of subcontract packages and materials including collation of tender documentation & administering tenders.
• Accountable for commercial package management and reporting to the commercial lead.
• Establishes cost control systems including administering client and subcontract changes.
• Establishes risk and opportunity reporting mechanisms.
• Mitigates risks and protect package/project margin.
• Reporting forecast to date, forecast to completion (defined cost if NEC, and fixed price if JCT)
• Cost control, planning/scheduling, risk analysis, earned value management, forecasting, and change management.
• Enhances profit by seeking opportunities through change and cost reduction measures such as value engineering.
• Operates and collaborates as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition,and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.

About The Role

Responsible for the commercial management of work packages for the United Airlines Hanger Refurbishment and fit-out project. What You’ll Bring

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification.
• CSCS
• Strong commercial management experience on major infrastructure projects.
• Excellent knowledge of contract administration and cost management.
• Ability to adapt and respond to change.
• Experience in establishing cost control systems.
• Leading value engineer and cost exercises.
• Preparing monthly commercial reports.

Nice to have

• Experience working on airport construction projects
• NEC contract experience
• Professional membership (RICS / ICES / MCIOB) or equivalent demonstrable experience.
• Ability to apply detailed technical expertise managing complex tasks.
