Main Purpose: The Commercial Manager is responsible for leading and motivating an internal team of Sales Co-ordinators across three distinct areas: Industrial Sales, Healthcare Sales and Service Sales. The role's core purpose is to create a cohesive, high-performing, and engaged team that consistently delivers excellent commercial support to the wider sales organisation. This role combines strong people leadership with commercial oversight, ensuring effective coordination, consistent ways of working, and a positive team culture that drives performance, accountability, and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership, Engagement & Team Culture
  • Lead, inspire, and develop Sales Coordinators across Industrial, Healthcare, and Service Sales teams.
  • Create a strong sense of unity and shared purpose, ensuring the team operates as one cohesive, high-performing function.
  • Motivate the team through clear direction, coaching, recognition, and ongoing development.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive culture that encourages collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular one-to-ones, performance reviews, and team meetings to support engagement and development.
Commercial & Sales Support Operations
  • Accountable for ensuring commercial compliance and management of contracts, terms, and conditions.
  • Oversee day-to-day sales coordination activities including quotations, order processing, pricing, contracts, renewals, and service agreements.
  • Ensure consistent, efficient, and accurate sales support processes across all sectors.
  • Act as a senior point of escalation for complex commercial or customer issues.
  • Support sales teams by ensuring timely, high-quality commercial information and documentation.
Cross-Sector Collaboration
  • Encourage best-practice sharing between Industrial, Healthcare, and Service Sales teams.
  • Balance sector-specific requirements with standardised processes and behaviours.
  • Work closely with Sales Managers, Service teams, Finance, and Operations to align priorities and resolve challenges.
Performance Management & Reporting
  • Set clear KPIs and service level expectations for the Sales Co-ordinator team.
  • Monitor performance, workloads, and capacity to ensure consistent delivery across all sectors.
  • Provide regular commercial reporting, insights, and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement & Change
  • Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and ways of working.
  • Lead or support change initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, accuracy, and team effectiveness.
  • Champion a mindset of continuous improvement and professional development across the team.
Skills & Experience
Essential
  • Proven experience in a Commercial Manager, Sales Operations Manager, or similar role.
  • Strong people leadership experience, ideally managing multi-disciplinary or multi-sector teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, engage, and unite teams with different commercial focuses.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including pricing, margins, and contract management.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable
  • Experience working across Industrial, Healthcare, or Service-based sales environments.
  • Experience using CRM and sales management systems.
  • Background in B2B sales support or sales operations

Salary: up to £60,000 (depending on experience)
