A national civil engineering client is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to lead commercial operations in the north of the UK. This role involves managing subcontract procurement, optimizing cash flow, and overseeing financial reports for projects. Candidates should have a solid background in Quantity Surveying and experience with large scale infrastructure schemes. Excellent commercial knowledge and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities independently are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Implement robust commercial processes during project start-up phases.
  • Manage subcontract procurement and ensure efficient contract administration.
  • Lead and support a team of commercial professionals across multiple civil infrastructure projects.
  • Work collaboratively with the supply chain to improve cost efficiency.
  • Optimise project cash flow through accurate valuations.
  • Monitor project and subcontractor costs to achieve budgeted targets.
  • Prepare and present detailed Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) reports.
  • Oversee the preparation and agreement of final accounts.

Skills

Andeerselite are currently recruiting for a an experienced Commercial Manager on behalf of our national civil engineering client. This role will be leading commercial operations the north of the UK. Typical projects include local authority road scheme and public realm regeneration projects.

What You ll Be Doing:
  • Implement robust commercial processes during project start-up phases.

  • Manage subcontract procurement and ensure efficient contract administration.

  • Lead and support a team of commercial professionals across multiple civil infrastructure projects.

  • Work collaboratively with the supply chain to improve cost efficiency, quality, and knowledge sharing.

  • Optimise project cash flow through accurate valuations, timely invoicing, and proactive payment tracking.

  • Monitor project and subcontractor costs to achieve or exceed budgeted targets.

  • Track resources and project spend to ensure financial goals are met.

  • Prepare and present detailed Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) reports and financial forecasts to support project performance.

  • Oversee the preparation and agreement of final accounts, managing variations, claims, and disputes effectively.

Candidate Requirements
  • Solid background as a Quantity Surveyor in residential and/or commercial construction
