Job summary

A1 Jobs Ltd is recruiting a Commercial Manager to oversee the commercial management of multiple construction projects across the region. You will guide financial control, manage risk, and ensure profitability from inception to final account.

Working with project managers and delivery teams, you will support contractual matters, negotiate terms, and lead final account negotiations. A full UK driving licence is required, with an attractive salary package including a car allowance.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Managing Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager within the construction industry.
• Strong commercial awareness, sound judgement and excellent attention to detail.
• Proven experience managing contracts, variations, payments and final accounts.
• Good working knowledge of NEC contracts.
• Strong numerical, communication and IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
• A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline would be advantageous.
• Membership of RICS, CIOB or CICES would be beneficial.
• Experience within M&E or building services would be particularly desirable.
• A full UK driving licence.

• Monitor cash flow and maintain effective commercial controls.
• Identify, assess and mitigate commercial risks while maximising opportunities.
• Work collaboratively with project and operational teams to support successful project delivery.

The Role

As Commercial Manager, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of multiple projects from inception through to final account. Working closely with project managers and delivery teams, you will provide commercial and contractual guidance, maintain financial control and proactively manage risk to protect margins and maximise profitability.

You will play an important role in supporting the wider commercial strategy, ensuring projects remain commercially viable and contractual obligations are effectively managed.

About You

We are keen to speak with commercially astute construction professionals with experience in Quantity Surveying or commercial management, ideally within the M&E or building services sector.

You will be confident managing contractual and financial matters, comfortable advising project teams and clients, and experienced in managing projects through to final account.

To be considered, you should have:

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Managing Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager within the construction industry.
