- CharteredQuantity Surveyor (MRICS) or equivalent.
- Commercially astute with substantial provenexperience within a commercial role in the Construction Industry.
- Must have knowledge of theNEC contract suites
- Expertknowledge of Standard Forms of Contract and Standard Methods ofMeasurement.
- CharteredQuantity Surveyor Status (member) - Desired but not essential
- Understandingof programming techniques and project controls.

- Computerliterate with strong skills in Microsoft Office Applications(Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint).
This will be a site based role with requirements for x2 days per week in Ipswich and 2 days working from our St James's Park, London head office. with hybrid work offered to 1 or 2 days working from home.
- Efficiently manage all commercial aspectsof the Portfolio of projects and maintain regular liaison with all stakeholders
- Manage the recruitment and staffing structure/utilisation for direct reports.
- Buildteam, manage the development of personal plans, establishment ofobjectives/targets for all direct reports and monitor on an ongoing basis -maintain performance
- Delegationof appropriate work to all staff, whilst maintaining accountability
- Encourageand develop a culture of contractual & commercial awareness on allprojects.
- Assistwith the development and training of Commercial Practitioners includingsupervisor / mentor / counsellor role for staff undertaking their APC orequivalent.
- Ensurethe site teams adheres to group procedures and governance.
- Contribute to the production of BusinessPlan and strategy
- Collate,analysis & challenge Cost/Value Reports and forecasts as required, thenimplement required actions.
- Ensure that the Commercial Practitionersadminister the contracts correctly in a timely and professional manner.
- Identify,mitigate and manage risk & opportunities for the portfolio of work.
- Maximising of cash position, includingWIP control, cash flow production & improvement plans for all projects
- Identificationand advice upon of insurance related issues, including PI.
- Assist in work winning duties asrequired, including proactive release of team members and attendance at ClientPresentations for Tender Interviews
- Assistin development of Joint Venture Agreements and arrangements where appropriate.
- Assistin the procurement of PCG’s, Bonds and Warranties.
- Negotiationof simple contract with the Client, including highlighting of business riskparameters.
- Ensuringoptimum performance of commercial team for the portfolio of work, undertakingconstant reviewing for margin gains in efficiency and timely resourceforecasting.
- Abilityto handle Client disputes, including issues outside of the contract.
- Ensurethat the outturn costs on the projects are monitored on a monthly basis througha detailed bottom up resourced and costed forecast maintained.
- Undertakeany other work as required of you by the Commercial Director, includingassistance in emergency situations for peers and manager.
- Attend client engagement events for equivalent levelcustomer feedback, alignment and future pipeline of work.
- Carry out commercial audits on other areas of thebusiness as and when required.
