Job summary

Kenna Recruitment Ltd in London is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team on a major £400m project running through to 2032. The role offers up to £100,000 plus a 10% travel allowance and a hybrid pattern (1 day per week in the office).

You will lead subcontractor procurement, manage cost reporting and CVRs, and work with NEC contracts within a large project team to ensure successful delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related qualification.
• Proven Senior Quantity Surveyor experience on major construction projects.
• Strong subcontractor procurement experience including tendering and package placement.
• Solid understanding of NEC contracts and practical application.
• Experience managing variations, CVRs, cost reporting and subcontractor accounts.
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

Our client, an established principal contractor, has been appointed to deliver a major £400m new-build project in North West London and is looking to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team.

With the project running through to 2032, this is an excellent opportunity to secure a long-term position on a significant scheme, working alongside an established team of 10 surveyors across varying levels of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead subcontractor procurement, including tender enquiries, bid analysis, negotiations and placing subcontract orders.
• Manage subcontractor packages from procurement through to final account.
• Administer variations, change control and contractual entitlements.
• Prepare and manage CVRs, cost reporting and commercial forecasts.
• Monitor project costs, identify commercial risks and implement appropriate cost-control measures.
• Work confidently with NEC forms of contract, ensuring contractual procedures and obligations are followed.
• Collaborate with the wider commercial and project teams to support the successful delivery of the scheme.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will have:

• A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related relevant qualification.
• Proven experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on major construction projects.
• Strong subcontractor procurement experience, including tendering, negotiation and package placement.
• A solid understanding of NEC contracts, with the ability to confidently discuss their practical application.
• Experience managing variations, CVRs, cost reporting and subcontractor accounts.
• Strong commercial awareness, negotiation skills and the ability to work effectively within a large project team.
