Job description

MWH Treatment is looking to strengthen their commercial team with a Commercial Manager for our Severn Trent framework. Based at Derby, you will provide leadership and management to the commercial delivery teams and core commercial functions for our business. You will report directly to the Senior Commercial Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Commercial management to drive commercial excellence into project delivery, ensuring accuracy of forecasts and protection of fee at all times.
  • Develop and foster relationships with clients and subcontractors alike to aid delivery and contract negotiation.
  • Provide commercial support to the procurement team, ensuring value for money at all times.
  • Negotiate contracts with clients, ensuring adherence to MWHT governance.
  • Continuously review commercial resource levels, playing an active part in recruitment to ensure effective and efficient delivery.
  • Support the Senior Commercial Manager in providing contractual and commercial training to all staff in the region.
  • Support the Senior Commercial Manager in reviewing and continuously developing commercial processes and procedures.
  • Undertake approvals and other processes in accordance with the MWHT authority matrix.
  • Deputise for the Senior Commercial Manager as and when required.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Extensive commercial experience within a contracting environment and significant experience as Managing QS or above.
  • Degree qualified or equivalent in a related subject.
  • Significant experience of managing a successful commercial team.
  • Experience at senior management level, demonstrating leadership qualities that promote an environment of excellence.
  • Experience and knowledge of IT reporting systems.
  • Proficient in contract management and risk assessment.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
