Commercial Manager - Defence

RT Consulting are an established Gold ERS armed forces covenant SME, we are a Management Consultancy with over 15 years' experience in driving innovation and transformation in key sectors, including Defence, Local & Central Government, Policing and Transport. As a result of continued success, we are expanding our society of consultants to fulfil current and future demands from our defence portfolio, particularly one of the largest Defence frameworks within the UK which we have proudly been supporting for over 5 years.

We are looking for a Commercial Manager with the following experience:

Commercial Management
  • Lead and manage commercial activities across complex defence programmes, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and governance frameworks.
  • Develop, negotiate, and manage contracts with suppliers and stakeholders, ensuring value for money and risk mitigation.
  • Provide expert advice on commercial strategy, procurement routes, and contractual terms to support programme delivery.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, clients, and external partners to ensure alignment of commercial objectives.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, influencing decision-making and driving best practice in commercial management.
Financial & Risk Management
  • Oversee financial performance of contracts, including forecasting, cost control, and reporting.
  • Identify and manage commercial risks, implementing mitigation strategies to protect programme delivery and organisational interests.
