Job summary

Involve Recruitment Ltd. are partnering with a leading Tier 1 contractor to appoint a Commercial Manager for the Welsh Water Framework in South Wales. You will oversee a team of Quantity Surveyors, drive value, and manage commercial performance across call-offs.

You will bring NEC3 experience, strong contract management and extensive forecasting; you'll engage with delivery teams and stakeholders to maximise value and control costs.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or similar.
• Proven record leading commercial teams in infrastructure, utilities or construction.
• Extensive NEC3 experience: ECC Option A, Compensation Events, Early Warnings, dispute resolution.
• Strong main contract and subcontract management.
• Advanced forecasting, financial analysis and Excel modelling.
• Confident negotiator and influencer across stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the QS team and set objectives.
• Own commercial performance, forecasting and governance across all call-offs.
• Oversee monthly client reports, CVR, costs, changes and cash flow.
• Turn project data into executive summaries for business planning.
• Drive subcontract performance against programme and budgets.
• Lead commercial risk management and maximise value from change.

Job description

We're working with one of the UK's leading Tier 1 contracting groups, with an established reputation for delivering some of the country's most high-profile and complex infrastructure schemes. Having recently secured a long-term framework to deliver and maintain critical clean and wastewater infrastructure across South Wales, they have a strong and secure pipeline of work, with significant project opportunities forecast for at least the next five years.

As Commercial Manager, you'll take ownership of commercial performance across every call-off contract on the Welsh Water Framework. Reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager, you'll lead a team of Quantity Surveyors and Senior QSs, set the commercial standard across a varied portfolio of projects, and advise delivery teams on risk and value.

What you'll do

• Lead, coach and develop the QS team, setting objectives and building succession
• Own commercial performance, forecasting and governance across all call-offs
• Oversee monthly reporting: client reports, internal CVR, cost, change and cash flow
• Turn project data into clear executive-level summaries that support business planning
• Drive subcontract performance against programme, budget and commercial targets
• Lead commercial risk management, maximise value from change and limit unrecoverable costs
• Continuously improve commercial systems, controls and reporting

What you'll bring

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management or similar
