Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Manager with a strong engineering background to lead and support commercial functions. The ideal candidate will have a relevant engineering degree, chartered status, and significant experience in delivering complex projects, ideally within transportation sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the commercial and contractual aspects of infrastructure and transportation projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and procedures.
- Provide commercial oversight across all stages of the project lifecycle, from feasibility through design and delivery.
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting.
- Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and welfare regulations.
- Engage effectively with contractors in design and build environments to ensure commercially viable solutions and smooth project delivery.
- Oversee preparation and review of contracts and procurement strategies, ensuring compliance with public sector.
- Contribute to the programming and delivery of works to meet timelines and financial targets.
- Support line management responsibilities, including performance reviews and staff development where required.
- Utilise computer analysis tools in the assessment and delivery of technical and commercial solutions.
- Represent the organisation in stakeholder meetings, providing clear and professional communication.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience in Signalling projects
- Proven experience in the application of health, safety, and welfare regulations in an engineering context.
- Strong background in project delivery in the rail sector.
- Demonstrable experience working with contractors in a design and build environment.
- In-depth understanding of contract conditions and commercial procedures.
