Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Manager with a strong engineering background to lead and support commercial functions. The ideal candidate will have a relevant engineering degree, chartered status, and significant experience in delivering complex projects, ideally within transportation sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the commercial and contractual aspects of infrastructure and transportation projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and procedures.
  • Provide commercial oversight across all stages of the project lifecycle, from feasibility through design and delivery.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and welfare regulations.
  • Engage effectively with contractors in design and build environments to ensure commercially viable solutions and smooth project delivery.
  • Oversee preparation and review of contracts and procurement strategies, ensuring compliance with public sector.
  • Contribute to the programming and delivery of works to meet timelines and financial targets.
  • Support line management responsibilities, including performance reviews and staff development where required.
  • Utilise computer analysis tools in the assessment and delivery of technical and commercial solutions.
  • Represent the organisation in stakeholder meetings, providing clear and professional communication.

  • Experience in Signalling projects
  • Proven experience in the application of health, safety, and welfare regulations in an engineering context.
  • Strong background in project delivery in the rail sector.
