Commercial Manager - South (Basingstoke-based)

Location: Basingstoke, with travel across the South (mainly London area)

Reports to: Managing Director

Our client is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to provide contractual and commercial support across our business. Working closely with senior management, project and service teams, you'll play a key role in protecting the company's commercial interests and ensuring all contractual matters are managed effectively and professionally.

This is a pivotal role that requires strong commercial awareness, excellent client liaison skills, and a proactive approach to risk management and negotiation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and negotiate contract terms, scope, and conditions.
  • Advise on commercial and contractual matters, including variations, delays, and disputes.
  • Ensure project teams understand and adhere to contractual obligations.
  • Manage sub-contract agreements and maintain strong relationships with clients and subcontractors.
  • Support payment and account resolution processes.
  • Prepare monthly commercial reports and project updates for senior management.
About You
  • Senior-level M&E Quantity Surveying experience (essential).
  • Strong understanding of JCT / NEC / MF1 contracts and Construction Act provisions.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented, commercially astute, and able to work under pressure.
  • Degree-qualified and/or experience in HVAC Controls/BMS industry (desirable).
