Interim Commercial Manager / Quantity Surveyor

Large, Complex Infrastructure Projects

12 Month Contract £500 p/d – Outside IR35

We are seeking an experienced Interim Commercial Manager / Quantity Surveyor (QS) to support the delivery of large, complex infrastructure projects.

This is a senior interim role, ideal for a commercially astute professional with a proven track record in major highly regulated complex construction and infrastructure programmes.

The Role

You will provide commercial leadership and hands‑on QS support across high‑value infrastructure construction works, working closely with project, engineering, and procurement teams to ensure robust commercial control throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Leading commercial management on complex infrastructure packages
  • Contract administration (NEC / bespoke forms preferred)
  • Cost forecasting, reporting, and cashflow management
  • Managing variations, compensation events, and change control NRF systems
  • Subcontractor procurement, management, and final accounts
  • Risk and opportunity management
  • Supporting claims preparation, negotiation, and dispute avoidance
  • Providing clear commercial advice to senior stakeholders
About You
  • Proven experience as a Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor on major infrastructure projects (e.g. transport, utilities, energy, civil engineering)
  • Strong working knowledge뜻 NEC contracts (NEC3/NEC4)
  • Comfortable operating in fast‑paced, complex delivery environments
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Able to work autonomously and add value from day one
  • Professional qualification (RICS, CIOB, or equivalent) desirable but not essential
Assignment Details
  • Interim / 12 month Contract – £500 p/d Outside IR35

  • Minimum 2 days on site managing stakeholders
