Job summary

G2 Legal Limited is recruiting a Commercial Litigation Associate Solicitor for Hertfordshire. With 2–5 PQE, you will handle commercial disputes and insolvency matters alongside experienced Partners in a growing Dispute Resolution team.

You will develop a broad practice, take increasing responsibility, draft robust pleadings, and manage your own caseload. The role offers hybrid working, a supportive environment and opportunities to build client relationships.

Qualifications

• 2–5years' PQE in Commercial Litigation or a related contentious practice
• Experience of insolvency work is highly desirable, although this does not need to have represented your entire practice
• Strong drafting and analytical skills
• A commercial and pragmatic approach to dispute resolution
• The ability to manage your own caseload
• Excellent client care and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• A proactive, positive and collaborative approach

Responsibilities

• Dealing with new client enquiries.
• Taking instructions and advising clients.
• Drafting correspondence, claim forms, particulars of claim, defences and witness statements.
• Preparing settlement documentation.
• Conducting legal research and preparing written advice.
• Managing an allocated caseload from instruction through to conclusion.
• Working with Partners on larger and more complex matters.
• Maintaining high standards of file management, time recording and matter administration.
• Identifying opportunities to cross-refer work to other departments.
• Supporting business development, networking and marketing initiatives.

Are you a commercially minded litigator?

A leading Legal 500-ranked regional law firm is looking to strengthen its growing Dispute Resolution team with a commercially minded Commercial Litigation Solicitor at 2–5 PQE.

This is an excellent opportunity for a litigator looking to develop a broad practice acrosscommercial disputes and insolvency, working alongside experienced Partners on a varied caseload for businesses, directors, shareholders, individuals and insolvency professionals.

You will have a solid foundation in commercial litigation and insolvency, with the opportunity to take increasing responsibility for their own matters and develop their client relationships, with great support around.

The team

The Dispute Resolution team has an excellent reputation for handling complex and sensitive disputes and advises a diverse client base including:

• Owner-managed businesses and SMEs
• Larger corporates
• Directors and shareholders
• High-net-worth individuals
• Insolvency Practitioners
• Secured lenders and creditors

The team handles a broad range of matters including contract disputes, director and shareholder disputes, banking disputes, corporate insolvency and insolvency-related litigation.

The firm also receives referrals from London and national practices, providing exposure to complex and high-value disputes.

The opportunity

The successful candidate will develop a varied caseload across commercial litigation and insolvency, with the opportunity to take increasing responsibility for their own matters.

You will be involved in:

• Commercial and contractual disputes
• Director and shareholder disputes
• Banking disputes
• Corporate insolvency matters
• Insolvency-related litigation
• Personal insolvency
• Property-related issues arising within insolvency @contexts
• Court applications under insolvency legislation
• Advising Insolvency Practitioners, directors and secured lenders
• Fast-track and multi-track litigation
• Supporting Partners on larger and more complex claims

Day-to-day responsibilities

Your role will include:
