Job summary

University of Glasgow in Glasgow invites applications for a research-led academic post in Commercial Law. The role encompasses developing international‑standard research, publishing in leading journals, and contributing to teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

You will also participate in curriculum development, supervision of research students, and service activities aligned with the School’s strategic objectives, with a view to enhancing the School’s profile internationally.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate material of a specialist or highly technical nature.
• Ability to engage students and provide pastoral care.
• Apply policy, practice and procedures including broader university/sector awareness.
• Work independently to contribute to research and teaching.
• Effective organisational skills to manage time and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and progress research projects of international standard with mentor support.
• Publish research findings in leading journals and contribute to funding applications.
• Enhance the school’s research profile with high-quality publications.
• Plan and deliver teaching for undergraduate/postgraduate courses, possibly as course coordinator.
• Contribute to curriculum development supporting a research-led approach.
• Support examination and assessment processes and provide timely feedback.
• Develop theory and practice in the subject area.
• Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate projects and train research students.
• Take on admin or management roles within the School as assigned.
• Engage in continuing professional development and contribute to international profile.
