At Freedom Leisure, we’re all about positive vibes, great people, and making a real impact. Yes, we run leisure and cultural facilities, gyms, and swimming pools - but at the heart of it all, it’s our people who make the difference.

As one of the UK’s leading charitable leisure trusts, we’re proud of our mission of Improving Lives Through Leisure. We’re here to help communities live healthier, happier lives by making our centres welcoming, inclusive, and accessible to everyone - because everyone deserves to feel good. We’re all about delivering amazing customer service with a smile - every single day. We create spaces where people feel at home, supported and inspired.

We’re proud to be a workplace where everyone is welcome, valued and supported to thrive - because when our team reflects the communities we serve, we all grow stronger together.

The Role

Ready to make a real commercial difference across a range of leisure centres and family entertainment venues?

We’re looking for someone commercially sharp, people-focused and proactive - someone who loves being out on site and supporting teams to strengthen their commercial performance. You’ll be able to work confidently with everyone from front‑line teams to senior leaders - bringing credibility at every level.

If you know your way around a P&L, can shape a solid business case and have experience in pricing, programming and driving commerciality - and you enjoy supporting teams to succeed - this mobile IMPACT role could be your next move.

Make an impact through :
  • Driving commercial performance
  • Supporting underperforming sites
  • Building confident, commercially minded teams

You’ll bring a blend of commercial instinct and operational understanding – able to join up the wider commercial picture with what actually works in our centres day to day. And you’ll be motivated by working alongside teams, building confidence and helping people turn good ideas into practical, sustainable income.

Because this is a deployable, hands‑on, mobile role, you’ll also live somewhere that enables frequent travel to our centres and partnerships. Your presence and visible support will play a crucial part in driving success.

If you’re commercially sharp and team‑focused and love supporting people to succeed, this is your next move.

You will :
  • Work with Area and Regional Managers to drive commercial performance by creating and delivering effective action plans and identifying growth opportunities through new business, improved programming and local commercial initiatives.
  • Act as a flexible, hands‑on commercial resource, providing targeted on‑the‑ground support to underperforming sites where it will have the greatest impact.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to plan and deliver campaigns that boost participation, footfall and customer spend.
  • Embed strong commercial habits within site teams and support them to interpret data, take ownership and improve outcomes.
  • Work closely with other commercial leads (Aquatics, Children’s Activities, F&B) to align activity and maximise total site income.
  • Share best practice, insights and success stories and inspire, motivate and celebrate strong commercial performance across the organisation.

In the event that a high volume of suitable applications are received, the post may close prior to the specified closing date. Please apply as soon as possible if interested.

Hours: 37 hours a week

Requirements

We’re looking for someone who is :

  • Commercially astute with a strong practical understanding of what drives sales, footfall and spend.
  • Adaptable and delivery‑focused, with a real passion for achieving commercial results.
  • Experienced in driving income growth and customer engagement in a leisure, fitness or hospitality environment (or similar).
  • A confident communicator and motivator who can energise and inspire teams at all levels.
  • Organised and proactive, able to manage campaigns from planning through to execution and follow‑up.
  • Comfortable working across multiple sites and locations, happy to be on the road supporting local teams.
  • A collaborative team player who thrives on action, positivity and measurable outcomes.
What you’ll bring :
  • Proven experience delivering commercial results in a customer‑facing, multi‑site environment.
  • Experience owning income streams or full P&L responsibility.
  • A hands‑on, people‑focused approach – able to quickly assess, plan and deliver improvements with teams on the ground.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence, coach and motivate.
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of income drivers.
  • Flexibility and mobility – able to travel and work across multiple sites as required.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (allowance provided).
  • Experience coordinating national or multi‑site campaigns.
  • Experience in the leisure, fitness or hospitality sector (desirable).
Benefits
  • My Staff Shop, our very own staff benefit scheme, gives employees access to a great range of benefits. Get discounts on cinema tickets, travel bookings, high street e‑vouchers, gift cards, days out, leisure activities and your day to day spending.
  • Discounted Staff membership (including family members)
  • Incremental holidays
  • Employee Assistance Programme – 24 / 7 confidential, independent and professional counselling.
  • Company pension
  • Various insurance and saving schemes
  • Financial advice
  • Cycle‑to‑work and Car Leasing tax‑efficient schemes (salaried staff only, depending on earnings)
  • All this as well as fully funded training and career progression opportunities in a team working environment

Closing Date: 5th December 2025

Salary: Up to £52,000 per annum + £2,200 car allowance
