Job description
Commercial Gas Engineer / Boiler Engineer

We are currently working on behalf of a highly respected specialist hire company who are looking to expand their engineering team with the addition of an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer / Boiler Specialist Engineer.

Our client operates nationwide, supporting commercial, industrial, private, and public sector clients with temporary heating, cooling, and hot water solutions. With ambitious growth plans and a commitment to innovation, they are now seeking a driven and knowledgeable individual to support the ongoing development of their operations.

The Role

The successful candidate will join a supportive and experienced team, working across a variety of sites installing, maintaining, and servicing commercial temporary boiler systems and air‑cooled chillers. You will also be involved in modifying existing pipework in older plant rooms.

Key Duties Include
  • Installation, servicing, and maintenance of commercial temporary boilers and chillers
  • Diagnosing and resolving faults on chilled water systems, AHUs, and forced draft burners
  • Modifying existing plant room pipework
  • Regular travel to client sites – a company vehicle will be provided
  • Supporting less experienced engineers and contributing to ongoing training
  • Ensuring all works are completed in line with safety and compliance standards
Key Requirements
  • Strong background in commercial mechanical systems – LTHW systems
  • Chilled water systems
  • Natural gas and oil‑fired boiler systems
  • Control wiring and electrical services
  • Experience with air‑cooled chillers and AHUs
  • Commercial Gas Safe certification
  • F‑Gas refrigeration certification
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Based locally to either the Kent or Redditch depot
  • Flexibility to support call‑out rota and emergency work as required
  • Willingness to undergo a DBS check (some client sites require clearance)

Competitive starting salary – dependent on experience

Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4:30pm
