Venture Recruitment Partners is supporting an ambitious consumer brand in Andover seeking a Commercial Finance Business Partner on a 12-month FTC. You will partner with Sales and Marketing to drive performance and turn financial insight into action.

This role requires a commercially minded finance professional with FMCG experience, strong modelling, ROI analysis and stakeholder engagement across Finance and Commercial teams.

Job Description

Commercial Finance Business Partner |12-month FTC | Hybrid working | FMCG / Consumer Brand

Venture Recruitment Partners is working with an ambitious, established consumer brand looking for a commercially minded finance professional to join its team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This isn't a role where you simply report the numbers and move on. You'll work closely with Sales, Marketing and wider business teams to understand what's driving performance, challenge the thinking behind commercial decisions and help turn financial insight into real business results.

From marketing effectiveness and promotional investment to forecasting, profitability and growth opportunities, you'll have a genuine voice in the decisions that shape the business.

What you'll be doing

You'll be at the heart of commercial decision-making, bringing financial performance to life and helping the business understand not just what's happening, but why, and what to do about it.

• Partnering with Sales and Marketing to improve performance, challenge assumptions and identify opportunities to grow sales and profit.
• Getting beyond the numbers by analysing results, spotting trends and turning complex data into clear, actionable insight.
• Driving better investment decisions through ROI analysis across marketing, media, promotional activity and customer spend.
• Owning the forecast and the story behind it, highlighting risks, opportunities and where action is needed.
• Building robust business cases and financial models to support commercial plans, new initiatives and investment decisions.
• Influencing senior stakeholders through clear reporting, meaningful commentary and confident, constructive challenge.
• Working across Finance, Commercial, Marketing and Supply Chain to keep financial plans aligned with business priorities.
• Finding better ways to work, improving analysis, strengthening commercial planning and helping the business deliver against its objectives.

It's a hands-on role with plenty of variety, where your ability to connect the financial detail with the bigger commercial picture will really matter.

What we're looking for

You don't need to be someone who sits behind a spreadsheet all day. We want someone who understands the numbers, but is just as comfortable talking through them with a Sales Director or Marketing Manager.

• Solid experience in commercial finance, business partnering or a similar performance-focused role.
• FMCG or consumer goods experience, with an understanding of what drives sales, margins, customer investment and profitability.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, reporting and financial analysis skills.
• Experience assessing ROI, promotional effectiveness, marketing spend or customer investment.
• The ability to build financial models and turn commercial ideas into credible business cases.
• Confidence working with non-finance stakeholders, challenging constructively and influencing decisions.
• A curious, analytical mindset, someone who asks why, spots opportunities and looks for practical solutions.
• The ability to balance detail with the bigger picture and manage competing priorities without losing sight of deadlines.
