Job description
Commercial Director – London, United Kingdom

Financial Services. Competitive Package.

We are partnering exclusively with a fast‑growing, global financial services firm operating at the heart of the commodities and capital markets ecosystem. Backed by leading investors and with ambitious growth plans, the business is on a journey of transformation, looking to expand its trading capabilities, strengthen operational excellence, and pursue new strategic opportunities across global markets.

This is a rare and high‑impact opportunity to join the leadership team as Commercial Director. The role sits at the intersection of strategy, operations, and capital markets, driving initiatives that will shape the next phase of the company’s growth story.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identifying opportunities across business lines to unlock growth, optimise performance, and enhance profitability through operational improvements, commercial initiatives, and product expansion.
  • Engaging with external stakeholders, including private equity investors, analysts, and capital markets participants, to help define and communicate the company’s growth story.
  • Leading post‑acquisition integration, synergy realisation, and major transformation projects, ensuring value delivery across trading desks, operations, and infrastructure.
  • Bringing deep knowledge of capital markets and commodities trading to inform long‑term strategic planning, highlighting opportunities in equities, rates, FX, and credit.
  • Operating as a trusted partner to senior management, influencing decision‑making and driving execution across complex, cross‑functional initiatives.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Background in capital markets, trading, or financial services, with direct product/desk exposure (equities, rates, credit, FX, or commodities).
  • Proven track record in corporate development, strategy, or transformation, whether within an investment bank, commodities broker, PE‑backed financial institution, or top‑tier consultancy.
  • Strong COO, Chief of Staff, or transformation office experience, ideally within capital markets or financial services.
  • Skilled at handling complexity—comfortable shaping strategic initiatives and driving operational execution simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership presence, able to operate credibly with senior stakeholders, investors, and market participants.
