The University of Hertfordshire is reimagining what sustainable growth looks like in a changing and increasingly competitive environment. We are seeking an outstanding commercial leader to join our Marketing, Communications and Commercial Strategic Business Unit and help shape what comes next. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, this newly created role will bring fresh commercial thinking and strategic insight to our future direction.
We are looking for someone who can bring a broader commercial lens, combining strategic insight with a sharp understanding of revenue, pricing, markets and profitability. You will help us think differently about how we maximise income, identify new opportunities, diversify our approach and build greater financial sustainability.
As Commercial Director - Education and Learning, you will lead a portfolio spanning international recruitment, global partnerships and transnational education. This is not, however, a traditional international recruitment role. Your focus will be on maximising the commercial performance and profitability of these activities while shaping the University’s broader commercial strategy. You will bring greater rigour to pricing and revenue optimisation, use data and market intelligence to inform decision-making, and identify new opportunities for diversification and sustainable growth.
We are looking for a leader who brings a strong commercial perspective, developed in a complex, competitive and customer-focused environment. You will combine strong commercial and financial acumen with strategic thinking, a sophisticated understanding of customers and markets, and the ability to turn insight into action. Experience of pricing, revenue optimisation and identifying new growth opportunities will be particularly valuable.
You will be joining Hertfordshire at an exciting point of significant change and transformation, with real opportunity to help shape what comes next. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, you will operate close to senior decision-making, becoming a trusted commercial adviser and bringing fresh thinking, insight and constructive challenge. This is a highly visible role with the scope to spot opportunities, influence strategy and make a tangible contribution to Hertfordshire’s next chapter.
