Our client is a leading civil engineering business. Over the next four years the aim is for this business to double in size and this role will be central in that growth with the negotiation and securing of new, sustainable business.

The role

  • Commercial Director of the Energy business, with a healthy current turnover and with an agenda to win significant new contracts over the next few years with major Energy sector customers.
  • A valued member of the senior leadership team of the Energy business.
  • A current commercial team of 25 with a small number of team leaders as direct reports. You will grow your team as the business continues to grow.

The ideal candidate

  • You will currently be a commercial director in a Civil Engineering business, ideally with a background in supplying to the Energy sector, to customers such as National Grid.
  • You will have experience of being on an SLT as well as managing a commercial team of a similar size.
  • You will have experience of business capture and ideally leading a commercial function through a growth period.
  • You will have relationships in the industry with customers, suppliers and competitors.

Working pattern

  • The role is based remotely. Travel to company offices in London and Manchester as well as to customer and supplier premises as required.
