About the role

We are looking for a new Commercial Director to join us!

We are seeking a strongly motivated and dynamic leader who can build on existing firm foundations with confidence and care and bring outstanding knowledge of the sector combined with commercial acumen and strategic purpose to nurture the values‑led behaviours shared between North Wales Wildlife Trust and Enfys Ecology.

Responsibilities

Take overall responsibility for commercial management, developing and implementing revenue growth strategies, and generally improving the market presence and profitability of North Wales Wildlife Trust subsidiary Enfys Ecology Ltd. Act as an executive director and a full member of the Board of Directors.

Responsible for North Wales Wildlife Trust relationships with businesses focusing on their potential to contribute unrestricted income to underpin our organisational Strategy 2030.

Qualifications
  • Experience in commercial consultancy and business development activities
  • Experience managing excellent long‑term client and stakeholder relationships and developing new ones in relevant sectors
  • Working at Board level in strategic management (operations, marketing and business planning)
  • Managing and building capacity and capabilities of small specialist teams and commissioning sub‑contracts
  • Managing usual accounting budgeting process and management processes of an SME including accreditation (ideally ISO 9001 / 14001) invoicing cost control and related matters
  • Foundational / working knowledge of environmental impact assessment, ecological and habitat management, protected species survey and mitigation techniques
  • Broad knowledge of changing nature of environmental and land management including farming and post‑Brexit environmental opportunities and funding schemes in Wales and the UK
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Welsh language skills desirable but not essential
