Job summary

Morgan Philips Specialist Recruitment is representing a world-leading gaming and entertainment business in Gateshead. They seek a Legal Counsel to support day-to-day legal requirements and partner with the Senior Legal Counsel on projects.

Reporting to the Senior Legal Counsel, you will lead on contract negotiations, licences, and regulatory matters, while ensuring compliance across the business in a heavily regulated sector. This is a permanent on-site role in the North East.

Qualifications

• UK qualified Solicitor with 3+ years post-qualification experience.
• Significant commercial legal experience, especially negotiating contracts.
• Can handle IP, data protection and regulatory queries as needed.
• Experience in a heavily regulated sector is desirable.
• Able to be an ambassador for the company brand and culture.

Responsibilities

• Advise on and negotiate commercial contracts and assist with licences and permissions.
• Provide timely legal guidance on contracts, licences and acquisitions where needed.
• Ensure contract compliance and liaise with the compliance team as required.
• Keep up to date with Gambling Act 2005 and regulatory developments.
• Support operational, compliance and property teams to secure permissions.
