Job description

Commercial Contracts Manager (12‑month FTC)

Warrington | Energy sector | 4 or 5 days per week

I'm working with a growing energy business that's looking for a Commercial Contracts Manager to provide maternity cover for 12 months.

It's a key role in a lean, fast‑moving environment — ideal for someone who's comfortable owning the detail, managing risk, and keeping the commercial wheels turning smoothly.

You'll work closely with senior stakeholders and have genuine responsibility across a wide range of contracts — from supplier agreements and lease renewals to onboarding new sites and managing audits.

This isn't a role where you'll be hidden in the background. You'll have visibility, accountability, and the trust to get on with it.

The Role
  • Maintain and manage the company's central contracts register.
  • Negotiate and renew supplier agreements, leases, and royalty contracts.
  • Manage OFGEM audits and ensure compliance.
  • Support onboarding of new energy sites — reviewing documentation and identifying risks.
  • Work with finance and operations to ensure commercial efficiency.
  • Provide commercial insight and clarity to the leadership team.
Who this will suit

You've got solid experience managing and negotiating contracts — ideally in an energy, utilities, engineering or industrial environment.

You're methodical and detail‑oriented but commercially minded — able to balance risk and opportunity.

You'll also need to:

  • Be based mainly in the Warrington office (hybrid flexibility, but this isn't a remote role).
  • Be confident working with senior leaders.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally — in person and in writing.
  • Ideally be degree‑educated in a commercial, legal, or related field.
  • Bonus points if you've worked with financial models or procurement agreements.
The offer
  • 12‑month fixed‑term contract starting January 2026 (with full handover).
  • 4 or 5 days per week — flexible for the right person.
  • Exposure to senior leadership and genuine influence over day‑to‑day operations.
Why this role stands out

Because it's not just about reviewing paperwork.

It's a role with tangible impact — helping shape commercial decisions in a business that's doing important work in the energy transition.

If you're someone who takes ownership, likes variety, and enjoys seeing how your work affects the bigger picture, this could be a great fit.
