Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Commercial Catering Engineer for a full-time, permanent role based in Ringwood. The position offers a salary between £40,000 and £55,000, depending on experience, along with benefits, a van, and opportunities for professional development. Ideal candidates will be Gas Safe registered and possess strong technical and electrical skills. This role will also involve mentoring trainee engineers and ensuring exceptional service delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience in breakdowns, diagnostics, PPM, and installations.

Job description

Commercial Catering Engineer, £40,000 – £55,000, Ringwood

• £40,000 – £55,000 depending on experience + benefits + Van + development opportunities & the chance to help shape a growing engineering team.

• Full-time, permanent role – travel required across client sites (arranged in advance).

• A senior level, hands‑on role within a fast‑growing commercial catering engineering business. We would also look at candidates who are a slightly ‘notch down’ but want to develop.

Are you a Commercial Catering Engineer, catering equipment engineer, Refrigeration Engineer or Multi‑Skilled Catering & Refrigeration Engineer looking to step into a highly influential role where you’ll help shape standards, mentor others, and drive best practice?

Your background as a Commercial Catering Engineer:

• Fully trained and multi‑skilled in commercial catering & refrigeration equipment, with strong technical capability across breakdowns, diagnostics, PPM and installations.

• Gas Safe registered (commercial) and some form of electrical qualification (e.g., 18th Edition, C&G 2365 or equivalent).

• F‑Gas certified (City & Guilds or NVQ) desirable.

• Solid electrical skills – fault finding, testing, wiring, and installation experience.

• Passionate about delivering high standards, exceptional customer service, and maintaining safe, compliant working practices.

Commercial Catering Engineer responsibilities:

• Carry out PPM, reactive repairs, diagnostics and installations across catering and refrigeration equipment (water boilers, ovens, fryers, ware‑washing appliances, fridges, freezers, ice machines, blast chillers etc.)

• Managing and maintaining accurate van stock levels

• Lead by example on technical quality, productivity, customer service and safe working.

• Mentor and support trainee engineers, guiding their development and sharing best practice.
