About the Role

This is an opportunity to join a global leader in combustion and environmental engineering. You will drive business development for Power Burner systems across Europe, leading initial customer engagement, feasibility work, technical proposals and commercial negotiations. You’ll work closely with engineering specialists, project teams and international sales colleagues to deliver solutions that enhance performance, safety and environmental compliance for major industrial clients.

The role requires a strong 'all-round' engineer with a strong commercial understanding to evolve enquiries from initial enquiry to proposing technical solutions to negotiating commercial contracts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, engage and convert new business opportunities across the UK and EMEA
  • Lead early-stage discussions, feasibility reviews and project scoping
  • Conduct customer site visits, plant surveys and technical assessments
  • Develop competitive engineered solutions aligned to customer requirements
  • Perform process design, equipment sizing and system optimisation
  • Prepare detailed technical and commercial proposals
  • Liaise with engineering, procurement, manufacturing, logistics and external agents
  • Present technical concepts to customers and senior stakeholders
  • Lead commercial negotiations and close orders
  • Handover secured projects to internal execution teams and provide post-order support
  • Represent the business at meetings, industry events and technical forums

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree, HNC or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering or similar
  • Experience within industrial engineering, energy, oil and gas or petrochemicals
  • Proven background in selling engineered solutions or capital equipment (UK and EMEA)
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project lifecycles
  • Knowledge of combustion or burner systems beneficial but not essential
  • Additional languages advantageous

  • Clear, confident communicator with strong presentation skills
  • Able to manage complex technical and commercial conversations
  • Logical thinker with strong problem-solving ability
  • Comfortable working to tight deadlines and travelling internationally
