As a Commercial Strategy Analyst within the Commercial Excellence function, the role supports the development and delivery of frameworks, tools, and insights to optimise commercial capability and enable Net Zero outcomes across Strategic Infrastructure. Working across onshore and offshore projects, the analyst collaborates with commercial teams to produce data-driven insights, delivery materials, and business cases, while ensuring alignment and consistency across National Grid. The role contributes to both new initiatives and ongoing projects, helping embed Commercial Excellence and improve infrastructure delivery.

This role is based out of our Warwick office. This is a hybrid role with 2 days a week travel required to Warwick. We’re happy to discuss any additional flexibility in working patterns or requirements that you feel could help to make this job work for you.

What You'll Do
  • Support the delivery of Commercial Excellence priorities through the development and implementation of frameworks, tools and standards that drive consistency across Strategic Infrastructure.
  • Apply structured analysis and problem-solving to develop data‑led insights that inform commercial decision‑making, including performance tracking, benchmarking and identification of risks and opportunities.
  • Support the development of commercial strategies and business cases, coordinating cross‑functional inputs and ensuring alignment with governance and Commercial Excellence principles.
  • Collaborate effectively across a matrix organisation, engaging stakeholders to gather insights and support the delivery of cross‑portfolio initiatives and improved commercial outcomes
  • Communicate insights and recommendations clearly through high‑quality outputs, and support continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and promoting best practice across the portfolio.
About You
  • You have experience in either strategy development, commercial management, or a related field, with strong stakeholder management skills. Project management experience would be advantageous.
  • You are proactive, capable, respectful, and adaptable, with the ability to build strong working relationships and collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Experience working within a regulated environment, capital delivery programme, or construction industry would be beneficial.
  • You have excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the confidence and credibility to engage senior leaders and drive positive outcomes.
  • You possess a strong analytical mindset and enjoy identifying opportunities to improve processes, performance, and ways of working.
  • You have experience using Power BI or similar data visualisation and reporting tools to generate insights and support decision‑making.
  • You have excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively.
  • You demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and can effectively manage multiple priorities, organise your workload, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • You are comfortable working in an agile environment and can adapt quickly to changing priorities and business needs.
  • You are commercially minded, with an understanding of how decisions impact business performance, value delivery, and wider organisational objectives.
What You'll Get

A competitive salary of £48,000 – £53,000 per annum, depending on capability.

As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.

You will also have access to a number of flexible benefits such as a share incentive plan, salary sacrifice car and technology schemes, support via employee assistance lines and matched charity giving to name a few.
