Commercial Analyst (Permanent, Full Time)

Are you ready to turn data into decisions and insight into impact delivering change to the Business? As a Commercial Analyst, you’ll be at the heart of strategic thinking within our Enterprise Business (Business, Public Sector and Wholesale).

Reporting into the Commercial Manager, you will provide commercial insight, pricing analysis, and market intelligence that drives long‑term growth and profitability. As a proactive self‑starter, this high‑impact, high‑visibility role is for someone who thrives on solving complex problems and influencing business direction through data.

Salary – Up to £50,000 per annum dependent on experience

Location – Hull, Carr Lane, with hybrid working opportunity

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of strategic analysis to support pricing, portfolio optimisation, and growth planning.
  • Provide insight‑led decision support across Enterprise, interpreting data and trends to recommend actionable solutions.
  • Own and deliver commercial analysis plans aligned with business strategy.
  • Evaluate commercial performance and present findings to senior stakeholders with clear recommendations.
  • Own and deliver external pricing promotions to new and existing customers
  • Manage virtual teams and cross‑functional projects to deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • Conduct market insight and competitor benchmarking to identify trends in the market as well as threats and opportunities.
  • Create and evaluate pricing models and business cases for new commercial opportunities
  • Develop dashboards and reporting tools to improve visibility of key commercial metrics.
  • Represent the commercial function in transformation initiatives and strategic working groups.
Requirements

The successful candidate will have knowledge of driving commercial improvements through analysis, interpretation and recommendations based on complex data sets is essential to provide commercial and analytical expertise to deliver positive outcomes for KCOM.

The ability to digest complex information and concepts and then simplify for communicating to others (including complex commercial documentation) is also essential as is the ability to influence and make clear recommendations and communicate them to senior stakeholders for agreement/approval.

You will be able to work with complex data and support relevant teams to drive positive commercial outcomes and be able to understand and interpret financial statements and Commercial KPIs.

You will need to be a “self‑starter” that can be creative in approach and stand shoulder to shoulder with all other parts of the business, securing positive outcomes to achieve business goals.

Essential Skills
  • Proven experience in commercial roles (product, propositions, financial management).
  • Strong data analysis skills with the ability to explain trends and influence decisions.
  • Excellent communication and comfortable presenting to a senior level as well as excellent and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience managing virtual teams and delivering cross‑functional projects.
  • Proficiency in financial modelling and scenario‑based forecasting.
  • IT literate with strong Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
  • A collaborative, adaptable, and results‑driven mindset.
Preferred
  • Experience within the Telecommunications, IT industry or similar.
  • Experience working within a regulated environment.
  • Degree in Business, Economics, Financial Economics, or related field.
  • Knowledge of Power BI.
  • Industry experience in IT, utilities, or service provision.
  • Exposure to AI, data science, or automation tools.
