Job summary

Lloyd & Whyte, part of the Benefact Group, is seeking a Commercial Account Handler to join our Gloucester team. You will provide expert insurance reviews and guidance to commercial clients, helping to maximise client satisfaction and achieve related income targets.

You will handle mid-term adjustments, queries and claims, ensuring accurate policy administration and strong service levels in a regulated environment. A collaborative, client‑focused role in a growing group.

Qualifications

• Chartered Insurance Institute Certificate in Insurance.
• Proven experience working within the UK insurance industry.
• Confident and capable of building rapport over the telephone to provide an excellent client experience.
• Organised, resourceful, deadline driven and supportive of the wider team.
• Ability to work in a regulated, compliant and client focused environment with excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic insurance reviews for commercial clients and identify related insurance products.
• Ensure policy administration is completed accurately and in a timely manner, working with Account Executive and Risk & Compliance teams.
• Continuously improve and maintain own technical competence with knowledge of products, market trends and underwriting guidelines.
• Ensure claims are handled efficiently, clearly and in good time with client kept informed.
• Support the complaints handler and ensure all complaints reporting requirements are met.
• Underwrite scheme policies in line with underwriting levels and referral guidelines.

As an Commercial Account Handler, you will provide exceptional service and advice to clients in order to maximise client satisfaction, achieving new business and related product income targets, maintaining the highest retention levels in support of the overall business strategy and handling mid-term adjustments, queries and claims in a timely professional and accurate manner.

What you'll be doing

• You'll be an expert in providing holistic insurance reviews for commercial clients, identifying and promoting related insurance products working with both new and existing business clients
• Ensure all policy administration is completed accurately and in a timely manner, working closely with both your Account Executive and our Risk & Compliance team.
• Continuously improve and maintain own technical competence with an in depth knowledge of all relevant products, market trends and underwriting guidelines to effectively handle referrals and a variety of complex work
• Ensure claims are handled efficiently, clearly and in good time and followed through to settlement with the client being kept well informed at all times
• Provide support and direction to the complaints handler and ensure all complaints handling requirements are met including reporting of all complaints to the relevant person
• Underwrite any scheme policies in line with underwriting levels and referral guidelines

What you'll need to have

• Chartered Insurance Institute Certificate in Insurance
• Proven experience working within the UK insurance industry
