We have a brand-new opportunity for an experienced Account Executive to join our established Commercial Team, based in Wokingham, Berkshire.

The successful Account Executive will be responsible for managing a book of business for existing clients and will develop a strong pipeline of new business in relation to various lines of commercial insurance, whilst ensuring full FCA compliance.

The role involves generating revenue for the business and ensuring a first-class service is provided to all clients in accordance with their needs and requirements. You will offer a cradle-to-grave service to our clients, supporting them every step of the way – from obtaining quotes, right through to renewals, claims, and mid-term adjustments. This comprehensive service ensures that our clients receive continuous care and tailored solutions throughout the lifecycle of their policies.

Key areas of responsibility
  • Prospecting new leads
  • Attending client visits and making initial contact
  • Completing identification of needs with prospective clients
  • Negotiation and presentation to insurers in order to secure most appropriate cover for the client
  • Presentation of recommendations and cover to the client
  • Closing the sale and ensuring cover is on risk
  • Securing cross selling business and referrals
  • Monitoring own sales performance in line with targets and effectively manage the client portfolio
  • Ensuring all business activity fully complies with FCA regulation and company procedures
  • Handle any complaints in accordance with regulation, the Company’s Conduct Policy and Guide to Best Practice
  • Achieve and maintain a high level of customer service and always promote exceptional customer care standards
  • Develop and maintain a professional working relationship with all clients and ensure expert advice in all areas of business
  • Ensuring accuracy, efficiency and professionalism when dealing with both clients and insurers
  • Handling claims and ensuring timely, effective support for clients throughout the claims process, from reporting to resolution

What we’re looking for

To be successful in the role, you must have the following skills

  • Previous experience in an Account Handler / Executive role within a broker environment
  • New Business skills and a strong client reputation
  • Working knowledge of most commercial insurance products
  • Experience of working to high standards of FCA compliance
  • A minimum of basic I.T. skills
  • Strong organisation skillsThe ability to work to a high level of accuracy
  • Exemplary customer service skills with the ability to build solid relationships with clients and insurers
  • Regulatory and compliance awareness
  • Willingness to work towards Cert CII or already hold qualifications.
