Job summary

A local authority council in Hamilton is seeking a store person to join their workshop team. Hours:

37 hours per week

Work Pattern:

Early shift - Monday - Thursday 6am - 2pm and Friday 6am - 1.30pm
Late shift - Monday - Thursday 2pm - 10pm and Friday 12.30pm - 8pm

Salary:

£29,960 - £30,384 annual salary

South Lanarkshire Council have one of the largest local authority fleets in Scotland with a modern fleet of vehicles ranging from small cars to 32‑ton tippers and various types of small and large plant items. Fleet Services maintain the full range of over 1,700 vehicles and plant operated by the Council in a fully equipped workshop in Blantyre and a satellite workshop in Lanark.

We are currently have a vacancy for a store person to join our team at our workshop in Blantyre.

Working as part of the stores team you will support the workshop in servicing, maintaining and repairing vehicles and items of plant and preparing vehicles for MOT.

The successful candidate must be able to work with the minimum of supervision and can efficiently plan and schedule their work to tight timescales.

Dealing with both internal and external customers, place orders, deal with returns, credits and receipt deliveries as well as issuing parts.

The successful candidate will be expected to participate in our annual stocktake for which additional payments may be made.

This role will be an excellent opportunity for an individual who wants to enhance their existing skills through working on a varied Fleet and multiple suppliers.
