Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in London is seeking a Colorectal Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist to support patients diagnosed with colorectal cancer. The CNS will manage a caseload through diagnosis, surgery and subsequent treatments, often informing patients of the diagnosis with expert knowledge and empathy.

You will run nurse-led clinics, develop protocols, and collaborate with the MDT across sites to deliver high-quality, timely care.

Qualificações

• Registered nurse with colorectal CNS expertise and knowledge of colorectal cancer pathways.
• Ability to run nurse-led clinics and coordinate patient care.
• Strong leadership and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsabilidades

• Work cross site to support patients diagnosed with colorectal cancer or suspected cases.
• Request investigations in line with current guidelines.
• Develop the service to be streamlined and efficient in a modern NHS.
• Collaborate with management, finance and IT to run clinics effectively.
• Formulate written information for patient groups and provide referrals when appropriate.
• Refer Lynch syndrome patients to genetics and present at MDT meetings.
• Prepare clinical information for MDT and ensure appropriate discussions.
• Attend weekly colorectal MDT meetings and contribute to discussions.
• Record clinic activity to analyze trends in annual data.
• Utilise advanced communication skills to manage episodes of care.
