Job summary

Bamford Contract Services Ltd is recruiting an experienced Coded TIG / Stick Welder in Rochdale for a temporary to permanent position. Immediate start with regular overtime and a competitive pay rate between £16.00 and £18.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Working hours are Monday-Thursday 8:00–17:00 and Friday 7:30–12:30. You will weld cryogenic pressure vessels and fabrications, read engineering drawings, and maintain high safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Time-served as a coded TIG / stick welder.
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Experience welding pressure vessels or similar high-integrity fabrications.

Responsibilities

• Carry out coded TIG welding on high-integrity cryogenic pressure vessels and fabrications.
• Perform TIG and Stick welding to a high standard.
• Complete tubular welding and fabrication work.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and welding specifications.
• Prepare, finish, and inspect precision-engineered components.
• Ensure all work meets quality and safety standards.
• Carry out general fabrication and welding duties as required.

On behalf of our client based in Rochdale, we are recruiting an experienced Coded TIG / Stick Welder to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business on a temporary-to-permanent basis.

Working Hours

• Monday to Thursday: 8:00am - 5:00pm
• Friday: 7:30am - 12:30pm

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out coded TIG welding on high-integrity cryogenic pressure vessels and fabrications.
• Perform TIG and Stick welding to a high standard.
• Complete tubular welding and fabrication work.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and welding specifications.
• Prepare, finish, and inspect precision-engineered components.
• Ensure all work meets strict quality and safety standards.
• Carry out general fabrication and welding duties as required.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will have:

• Time-served experience as a Coded TIG / Stick Welder.
• Valid or previously held welding codings (preferred).
• Experience welding pressure vessels, pipework, or similar high-integrity fabrications.
• The ability to accurately read and work from engineering drawings.
• Experience with tubular welding.
• A strong commitment to quality, accuracy, and safe working practices.
• Availability to start immediately.
