An agency for public service roles is seeking a Coastal Operations Officer (COO) to support logistic and administrative activities of HM Coastguard. The ideal candidate will help manage Coastguard Rescue Teams and ensure operational readiness in emergency situations. Responsibilities include supporting governance and logistics, providing on-scene response, and working collaboratively within a dynamic team environment. We are looking for you to join as a Coastal Operations Officer (COO) within HM Coastguard (HMCG) which is the operational arm of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) with responsibility for 6 Coastguard functions - Search and Rescue, Pollution Response, Vessel Traffic Management, Maritime Safety, Maritime Security and Emergency and Disaster management. There are three delivery disciplines within HM Coastguard, Maritime Operations, which coordinates activities from an operations room environment, Aviation who operate the Aeronautical Rescue Coordination Centre (ARCC) and Coastal Operations which manages resources and service provision on the coast. The Coastguard Rescue Service (CRS) is a declared facility operated by HM Coastguard. This post is part of Coastal Operations.

As a COO you will be part of the Area Management team, responsible for managing and supporting Coastguard Rescue Teams under the supervision of the Coastal Operations Area Commander to ensure that the Operational Area is at a state of constant readiness. You will be responsible for the support of governance, inspection, supervision, management and logistics of vehicles, equipment and estate within the Area.
