Overview

Job Title - CNC Turner Setter/Operator

PERMANENT POSITION

Salary package - £33-35K DOE including shift allowance

Location - Devizes, Wiltshire

Hours - 39 hours a week

Shifts - rotating double day shift pattern

My client is looking to recruit an experienced CNC Turner to join their engineering team on a permanent basis due to significant growth with the business. My client has multiple sites within the Southwest and has been established over 80 years and is a market leader in their industry with a large blue chip client base all over the world.

Within the role of CNC Turner you will be working within the turning department, where you are required to achieve and maintain a high level of quality and accuracy. Operating a variety of lathes and CNC control systems producing our client's products and their components in small batch quantities.

Responsibilities
  • Operating various CNC lathes including Doosan and Alpha with Fanuc controls
  • Produce parts that conform to the drawing requirements.
  • Ensuring all documentation including works orders and inspections are completed.
  • Ensuring that the ERP system is updated accordingly on all jobs.
  • Complete any daily checks on the machines that you are using, reporting any faults to the supervisor or deputy supervisor.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Previous machining experience, ideally CNC turning
  • Previous experience working in a high tolerance manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge / previous experience on both Fanuc & Heidenhain controllers (ideally)
  • An eye for detail and a desire to ensure the best quality product is produced.
  • Positive "can do" attitude.
  • Specific EDM training will be given due to unique nature of the parts being made.
  • Willingness to embrace and execute lean practices and good housekeeping.
Shift Pattern & Training

This position will be working initially a day shift pattern Monday to Friday during training, and then a rotating double day shift pattern as below:

  • Earlies: 6.00am to 2.30pm Monday to Thursday and 6.00am to 11.00am on Friday
  • Lates: 2.30pm to 11.00pm Monday to Thursday and 11.00am to 4.00pm on Friday
