The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of CNC lathe operations and engineering drawings. Job description
Role & Responsibilities

The main purpose of the role is to ensure CNC turning machines run efficiently with minimal downtime while producing high-precision components to exact drawing specifications.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Setting machines and defining datums
  • Proving out new jobs
  • Editing and adjusting machine offsets
  • Carrying out first-off inspection checks
  • Maintaining strict machining tolerances
  • Interpreting detailed engineering drawings
  • Working closely with inspectors to ensure all tolerances are met
  • Managing material identification and control
  • Planning workloads effectively with Team Leaders
Key Skills & Experience

Ideal candidates should have experience in most of the following areas:

  • Strong understanding of CNC lathe setting and operating
  • Ability to interpret and work confidently from engineering drawings
  • Experience conducting first-off inspections
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good timekeeping and reliability
  • Strong understanding of machining tolerances and precision requirements
