Job summary

About the Role

Mazco Recruitment is partnering with a precision engineering business that supplies high-quality components to the Motorsport, Automotive, Aerospace, and Defence industries. We're looking for a skilled CNC Turner Programmer/Setter/Operator to join their dynamic team.

The successful candidate will be a confident and experienced machinist, capable of programming, setting, and operating multi-axis lathes to tight tolerances in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program, set, and operate 2-, 3-, and 7-axis Miyano lathes with live tooling.
  • Write and edit CNC programs directly at the machine, including full setup (material, tooling, speeds, and feeds).
  • Manufacture precision components from various materials, working from engineering drawings to exacting standards.
  • Conduct in-process inspections using measuring equipment to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Create and update CNC programs for low to medium volume production runs from billet, bar feed, or castings.
  • Design and produce jigs and fixtures as required.
  • Manage tooling and raw material stock to reduce downtime.
  • Assist with machine maintenance and recommend equipment upgrades.
  • Prepare clear manufacturing packs for repeat jobs to maintain consistency.
  • Ensure machines, tooling, and parts are kept clean and in top working order.
  • Work safely and in line with the company's quality procedures and HSE standards.
Key Requirements
  • Minimum 4 years' experience programming, setting, and operating CNC lathes.
  • Proven ability to manually write and modify programs at the machine.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and tolerances.
  • Experience with Miyano, Doosan, Citizen, or HAAS machines desirable.
  • Proficiency with Fanuc controls preferred.
  • Background in a precision engineering/machine shop environment.
  • Self-motivated, hands-on approach with a strong eye for detail and quality.
