Overview

Kurt J. Lesker Company – CNC Turner Programmer/Operator

Location: St Leonards, East Sussex. Employment type: Permanent, Full-time. Fixed shift pattern with specialist training, healthcare cash plan, holiday, and pension.

Role

We are looking for a CNC Programmer/Operator to join us at the Kurt J. Lesker Company at our European headquarters in St. Leonards, East Sussex. If you’re passionate about CNC machining, experienced in both CNC and manual turning operations, and eager to advance your career with a company that champions excellence and collaboration, we’d love to hear from you. The fixed working pattern for this position is Monday – Thursday 08:00–17:00 and Friday 08:00–14:30.

Responsibilities
  • Set workpieces and run direct and remote programs on both horizontal and vertical CNC turning machines.
  • Operate lathes and perform manual turning, using traditional machining techniques and precision metalworking.
  • Program bespoke designs using CAM software.
  • Read detailed technical mechanical drawings and maintain a safe, clean work environment.
Qualifications
Required
  • ONC/HNC (Mechanical, Manufacturing Technology or Industrial Technology) or equivalent experience.
  • Proven machining experience on CNC equipment or using CNC solid modeling (turning).
  • Delcam or MasterCam programming experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of machine functions (G code, M code, offsets, etc.).
Preferred
  • Lean Manufacturing.
