A leading precision manufacturing company in Abbots Langley is looking for an experienced CNC Turner - Setter Operator, Programmer. The role involves ensuring efficient machine operations and high-quality component production. Candidates should have a strong background in CNC lathes, with a positive mindset and attention to detail. Experience in the aerospace or similar industries and knowledge of specific controls is preferred. The position offers a competitive salary of £45K - £48K with unlimited overtime at 1.5.

Qualifications

  • 4 years previous experience Offline Programming, Setting and Operating.
  • Experience of Turning Inconel, Titanium and Stainless to tight tolerances.
  • Background producing CNC machined components for motorsport, aerospace or similar industries.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure machines have minimal downtime and are working efficiently.
  • Define machine datums and prove out new jobs.
  • Edit machine offsets and maintain machining tolerances.

CNC Turner - Setter Operator, Programmer

A Precision CNC Manufacturing Company Based in Hertfordshire, covering a broad range of sectors including Aerospace, Defence, Motorsport, and Robotics. We operate an F1‑level engineering facility that offers a clinical and precise working environment, utilising state‑of‑the‑art machine tools and supporting equipment.

Summary

We are seeking a hardworking, precise, and experienced CNC Turner to join our well‑established team of CNC Engineers. In return, we will give you the chance to produce a huge variety of complex components on the latest CNC machine tools with the right equipment and support to get the job done.

The Role & Responsibilities

The day‑to‑day role will be ensuring machines have minimal downtime and are working efficiently to produce high precision components to drawing specifications. This will include the following:

  • Defining machine datums
  • Prove out new jobs
  • Editing machine offsets
  • Carrying out first off inspection checks
  • Maintaining machining tolerances
  • Interpreting engineering drawings
  • Collaborating with inspectors to ensure drawing tolerances are met
  • Material control and identification
  • Planning with Team Leaders to work efficiently

  • Experience of Turning Inconel, Titanium and Stainless to tight tolerances
Education
