A precision engineering firm in Plymouth is seeking an experienced CNC Turner to expand their engineering team. The role involves setting Star CNC Lathe machinery, ensuring precision and quality in production. Ideal candidates will have prior experience as a Turning CNC Machinist, strong problem-solving abilities, and excellent attention to detail. The position offers an opportunity to work with high-end technology in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Turning CNC Machinist is essential.
  • Ideally Apprentice Trained with STAR experience.
  • Good problem solving skills.
  • Excellent Maths skills and use of measuring equipment is a must.
  • Able to develop strong effective relationships with all departments.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organised.

Responsibilities

  • Read and understand engineering drawings & specifications to set CNC Turning Machines.
  • Select and correctly fit tooling, jigs and fixtures.
  • Set programs and adjust bar feeds.
  • Adjust and tweak programs.
  • Sign off 1st batch.
  • Work alongside quality to ensure reduced waste.
  • Ensure breakdowns are reported immediately to supervisors.

Overview

DK Recruitment are working with a world-renowned, precision Engineering business based in Plymouth who are expanding their Engineering team to work within high-end TURNING CNC technology. The purpose of the CNC Turner is to set Star CNC Lathe machinery to tight tolerances.

Responsibilities
  • To read and understand engineering drawings & Specifications to set CNC Turning Machines.
  • Select and correctly fit tooling, jigs and fixtures.
  • To set programs and adjust bar feeds.
  • To adjust and tweak programs.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Sign off 1st batch.
  • Work alongside quality to ensure reduced waste.
  • Use Vernier's & Micrometers.
  • Support the running of machinery and ensure coolants/oils are topped up at all times.
  • Ensure any breakdowns are reported immediately to supervisors and maintenance team.
