Job summary

Jackie Kerr Recruitment Ltd is recruiting an experienced CNC Turner for a precision engineering business based in Kensworth, near Dunstable. The role involves programming, setting and operating CNC turning machines and reading engineering drawings to ensure parts meet tolerances.

Working hours are Monday-Thursday 07:45-16:15 and Fridays 07:45-15:15 (39 hours/week) with overtime paid at time and a half. Benefits include 20 days holiday, corporate benefits and eye tests, and workwear provided.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in CNC turning.
• Strong CNC programming, setting and operating experience.
• Experience using CAD/CAM.
• The ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings.
• Experience machining different materials.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• A proactive and hands-on approach.
• The ability to work well as part of a team.
• Good computer skills.
• CMM experience is desirable.

• Program, set and operate CNC turning machinery
• Create CNC programmes offline using CAD/CAM
• Work from engineering drawings and specifications
• Ensure components are produced to the required quality standards and tolerances
• Meet production deadlines and internal milestones
• Identify and resolve machining and production issues
• Maintain a high standard of quality throughout the manufacturing process
