Senior CNC Turner

Interesting and challenging senior CNC turning opportunity in this brilliant sub‑contract precision engineering company. As a programmer‑setter‑operator, you will work on complex parts for a range of high‑precision industries. Typically programming offline using HyperMill’s turning module (cross training available) you will be working at the very top of the industry machining the hardest and toughest materials to exacting standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Offline programming, setting, and operating CNC turning machines to produce precision components.
  • Working with diverse materials while ensuring adherence to tight tolerances and maintaining high‑quality standards at each stage of production.
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to manufacture components according to exact specifications.
  • Optimising machine performance to reduce downtime by defining machine datums, proving out new jobs, and adjusting machine offsets.
  • Conducting initial inspection checks to uphold machining tolerances and collaborating with inspectors to ensure compliance with drawing specifications.
  • Managing material control and identification in coordination with team leaders to streamline workflows.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • At least 4 years of experience in a CNC Turner position.
  • Expertise in offline programming, setting, and operating CNC lathes.
  • Proven experience in producing precision CNC machined components for high‑precision industries, especially working with materials like Inconel, titanium, and stainless steel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to resolve production issues effectively.
  • A proactive attitude with a desire to learn and grow.
Education
  • Level 3 BTEC in Mechanical Engineering (Preferred)
  • NVQ Level 3 (Preferred)
  • Apprentice‑trained (Preferred)

Premium rate overtime is readily available with this role.
