CNC Setter / Operator (Milling)

Location: Wolverhampton

Sector: Engineering / Aerospace / Precision Machining

Recruitment: Pertemps Wolverhampton

Pay Rate: £13.30 - £14.50 per hour (depending on experience)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm

Contract Type: Temp to Perm

Pertemps Wolverhampton are recruiting on behalf of a well‑established engineering client in Wolverhampton for an experienced CNC Setter / Operator (Milling) to join their production team on a temp to perm basis.

This is an excellent opportunity to secure a long‑term role with permanent prospects within a high‑precision engineering environment.

The Role

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will set and operate CNC milling machines to produce components and parts in line with customer specifications and engineering drawings, while ensuring compliance with quality and health & safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set, operate and monitor CNC milling machines
  • Produce precision components to specification and drawings
  • Ensure maximum stock utilisation and minimal waste
  • Record production data on stock control systems
  • Maintain accurate product identification and traceability
  • Follow all health & safety procedures
  • Support training of other operatives
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Perform quality checks and inspections
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Experience setting and operating CNC milling machines
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and cutting patterns
  • Understanding of machining processes and raw materials
  • Knowledge of health & safety within manufacturing
  • PC literate with strong attention to detail
  • Reliable, self‑motivated and quality‑focused
Desirable
  • Counterbalance Forklift Licence
  • Machine maintenance knowledge
  • Experience as an approved stamp holder
