About the Role

We\'re seeking an experienced CNC Setter/Operator (Milling) to join a forward-thinking precision engineering business working within the aerospace and advanced manufacturing sectors.

This is a hands-on role for a skilled machinist who takes pride in producing high-quality components to tight tolerances. You\'ll be responsible for setting and operating CNC milling machines, ensuring all products meet exacting customer and industry standards.

Responsibilities
  • Set, operate, and monitor CNC milling machines to produce components to specification.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and cutting patterns to maximise material utilisation and minimise waste.
  • Carry out in-process quality checks, ensuring all parts meet required tolerances.
  • Accurately record production data using computer-based systems.
  • Maintain safe working practices in accordance with Health & Safety regulations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Contribute to training and development of junior operators where required.
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in CNC Milling (setting & operating) within a precision engineering environment (aerospace experience beneficial).
  • Strong understanding of machining principles, materials, and tooling.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and follow detailed specifications.
  • Computer literate and confident completing production documentation.
  • Safety-conscious with good attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with a focus on quality and efficiency.
Desirable
  • Counterbalance forklift licence.
  • Basic machine maintenance skills.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement / lean principles
